When you think of Orlando, Florida, all types of images come to mind. Walt Disney World and scores of other theme parks and destinations with fabulous attractions, aquatic shows, museums, live entertainment, tropical surroundings and much more evoke iconic visions of family fun. This is one of the most spectacular places in the world to go on vacation and a huge reason for that is the weather. You hardly ever have to decide what time of year you want to visit Orlando since there is a relatively warm tropical climate all year. This makes for a successful and fun-filled vacation just about any time you wish to have one.

Children go absolutely wild for Walt Disney World and this will most likely be their first choice for the first stop. There is so much to do and see in this wonderful park (it is bigger than some counties) that you could easily spend your entire vacation here if need be. You could spend days exploring the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios and the Disney Animal Kingdom as well. There are breathtaking thrill rides all over the park, live entertainment and the chance to meet Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, Goofy and all the rest of the Disney characters. Walt Disney World also has two water parks that are perfect for summertime fun and a great way for the adults to get a little sun-kissed while the kids play in the water.

No end of fun in Orlando
Sea World is another great attraction in Orlando that the entire family will enjoy. There are many types of marine life to meet here from whales and dolphins to sea lions and more. You can also experience the rare pleasure of swimming with the dolphins, something that you are not likely ever to forget. You can also feed the dolphins their favorite treats and help their trainers lead them in some of their favorite tricks, flips and dives. Not only does Sea World offer a plethora of sea creatures to see but there are also plenty of rides at the park including the world-famous Kraken.

Orlando is also a great place for the family to gather some knowledge about the region's history and drink in the local culture at the same time. Many museums and art galleries are home to some of the most beautiful collections and historical artifacts in Florida. The Morse Museum of American Arts features a massive collection of pottery, art glass and jewelry designed by Tiffany - Co. It is located at the Rollins College in Winter Park, and in addition to the Tiffany collections it also offers a collection of paintings from the 19th century. The Orange County Regional Center features artifacts from the past as well as the modern era that recount the events that shaped central Florida. Topics include the Civil Rights Era, the Seminole Indians and even Walt Disney's dream of a "super Disneyland."

Sports and recreation
If you love the game of golf then the hundreds of courses will inspire you, including the six stellar golf courses that Disney World provides for the entire family to enjoy. There are also mini-courses for the kids and beginner greens for al ages. The more avid player can always find time for an 18-hole game with some other experienced players. In addition to golf, there are pools at almost every single hotel and motel in the area for swim-and-snorkel fun. You can rent bikes for a leisurely ride, or take to the local hiking trails in Orlando's Turkey Lake Park, a 300-acre city park set in rural surroundings. The park also has three playgrounds, several miles of bike paths, picnic tables, barbecue grills, swimming, an ecology center and Cracker Farm, a recreation of 1800s ranch life.

End the day right
To end the evening right, you can catch a stellar performance of Cirque du Soleil at the theater La Nouba, located in downtown Orlando. These magnificent artists from around the world will amaze you as they perform amazing acrobatics with special effects. Or, if you prefer a quieter, more relaxing way to end the evening, take flight on a hot air balloon at dusk and enjoy a breathtaking view from the sky over Orlando. The sunset will not get much better than this view, so do not forget the camera.
